Spraying Moss and Algae Killer Commercially

Spraying Moss and Algae Killer Commercially

Benzalkonium Chloride is a most effective chemical to use for prevent moss and algae from developing, while still being gentle on the environment.

Facility Works operates in partnership with Chem Mate  to bring low cost solutions for treating moss and algae. We use foaming lances to spray a foam onto roofs, foot paths, driveways and any surface that require long term protection from moss and algae. This ensures that the entire surface of the area is covered and results will be satisfying as expected.

How long does it take work?

Lighter green algae will start to disappear within 1 week, sometimes only days. Heavy black algae can take weeks to fade as the 'Gleocaspa Magma' algae is tough and builds up over a long period of time. Heavy Moss and Lichen will die quickly but can take a couple of months to completely disappear. That is why it is important to stay on top of the treatments so that you don't have to wait for surfaces to clear and the organic growth to fade.

In this photo here the surface was water blasted first so that the customer did not have to wait for area to be cleaned over months. Water-blasting the affected area is the best way to get the quickly results that most customers want and the regular treatments after will keep the area clean as long as the 'Facility Works' service is continued.

Usually we will back this treatment up with a Weed Control product to prevent rapid regrowth of weeds that grow in between the cracks.
